Salt-Bloc Chloride Barrier

Diedrich Salt-Bloc is an all-purpose, deeply penetrating siloxane water repellent and chloride barrier for concrete and pavers.

• Blocks the absorption of chloride ions from de-icing salts into concrete, brick and concrete paver sidewalks and driveways.
• Protects against the intrusion of moisture causing efflorescence, leaching, mildew, atmospheric staining, and freeze/thaw spalling
• Protects against chemical attack of chloride salts to reduce rebar and wire mesh corrosions
• Salt-Bloc is resistant to the detrimental effects of acid rain and carbon buildups
• Ideal for use on horizontal surfaces, and may also be used on retaining walls, bridge pilings and other vertical concrete applications
• Salt-Bloc protects against deep-seated stains caused by mud splashes and other waterborne contaminants
• It is highly effective in coastal areas in protecting surfaces from airborne salts

NOTES:

• May NOT be suitable for some surfaces - gypsum plaster, synthetic resin paints and other non-masonry surfaces
• TEST APPLICATIONS MUST ALWAYS BE CONDUCTED
• It is NOT recommended to paint over surfaces treated with Salt-Bloc
• Do NOT use on surfaces subject to constant water spray (i.e., car washes, water fountains)

Salt-Bloc Chloride Barrier Application

• Apply with a dense, soft masonry brush, roller, or low pressure (40-50 psi) airless sprayer at full strength (do not dilute).
• Apply an initial mist layer to break surface tension then follow up with a second flood coat.
• On horizontal surfaces take care to apply enough product to keep wet for a few minutes, while brooming out any puddles.
• Apply enough product on vertical surfaces to allow for a 6” to 8” run-down working bottom to top.
• Two wet on wet applications are required.
